NATIONAL CHILDREN’S HOSPITAL (NCH) as an institution has a very rich history of countless number of pediatric patient served for the last 68 years of its existence. It was originally constructed simply as an INDIGENT CLINIC on February 11, 1945 with a primary aim of taking care of war refugees particularly the sick and undernourished children. Through the years, several changes transformed this humble health facility into what now stands formidable as National Children’s Hospital through Republic Act 1340. This institution which is situated in the heart of metropolis, along E. Rodriguez Sr., Ave, Quezon City, is a 250 bed capacity, Level III, special hospital under the Department of Health.
This premier pediatric hospital caters to a wide spectrum of exceptional quality health care ranging from diagnosis, treatment, prevention, promotion, rehabilitation, alternative and palliative services to our patients.
NCH is at the forefront of the Department of Health towards ensuring quality patient safety under the stewardship of its present head, EPIFANIA S. SIMBUL, MD, FPPS, CEO VI. It takes pride in its many achievements such as the award as Center of Excellence by PhilHealth, accredited Level III training program of the Philippine Pediatric Society and it is now on its journey towards ISO certification. It is the only pediatric hospital that houses the Hydrocephalus Center in the Philippines, Touch Therapy Institute of the Philippines, Hemangioma Center, Center for Diabetes in Children and the Congenital Heart Center. Through the years, NCH has been and will always be a leaving testament of loving care and concern for all the Filipino Children.
